A look back at 30 years of architecture by Kleihues + Kleihues. This anniversary book offers a representative glimpse into the firm's extensive body of work. Through selected studies and projects—whether completed or submitted to competitions—a wide variety of very different designs are presented using large-format photos and images, along with brief project descriptions. From Josef Paul Kleihues' museum buildings to Jan Kleihues' well-known large-scale projects, a distinct architectural signature emerges that continues to shape the firm to this day. In addition to urban planning and design philosophy, the book places particular emphasis on materiality, detail, and the quality of craftsmanship. Supplemented by two introductory texts by Jan Kleihues and Gerwin Zohlen, the firm's history and philosophy are examined in depth.

The architectural studio Kleihues + Kleihues, based in Berlin and Münster, has been designing buildings of all types for 30 years. Founded by Josef Paul Kleihues and Jan Kleihues, together with Norbert Hensel, the firm is now led by Jan Kleihues and Michael Alshut.
