Hartwig Klappert (born 1947 in Siegen) worked initially as an art director after completing his studies in graphic design and has been a freelance photographer since 1978. From 1994 to 1997, he was a visiting professor at the University of the Arts in Braunschweig and now lives in Berlin and Brandenburg. His photographic work has received numerous awards (including ADC New York Gold).
